School Street Elementary School operates a Title I Schoolwide program that serves approximately 545 students in grades 3-5. The school has met or exceeded adequate yearly progress for the past five years in seventeen targeted groups.   The staff's primary focus is on the needs of all students. This is evident in their positive daily interactions with students and their continuous efforts to prevent bullying or other inappropriate behaviors. The school operates a Positive Schoolwide Behavior program where students and staff are recognized daily for following the school rules or going above and beyond.

There are a variety of programs available to ensure all students' academic and social needs are met.  A full-time guidance counselor instructs students in developmental guidance lessons and is also available to meet with students individually.  All students participate in an enrichment model where they receive additional time in areas of need or interest on a daily basis.  Students in fourth and fifth grade have the opportunity to participate in band and chorus along with their weekly music class.  In addition to music class, students go to the library, art room, and gym for lessons with certified specialists weekly.

Please contact the school at (814) 368-3183 if you would like more information or a tour of the building.
