Color-coded weeks determine when students attend the lab.

All students at School Street will work in the new SMART lab for five days every five weeks.  The students will work in teams to use different scientific, mathematical, technological and social skills to solve problems given to them by their instructor, Mr. McGinnis.  At the end of the week, the students have to share what they learned in a presentation to their peers.

The students go to the lab when they would have physical education, art, library, or music.  Each classroom is assigned a color and when the week is their color, then they go to the lab instead of the aforementioned classes.  This just makes the time in the lab more beneficial as they can focus on one project on consecutive days.

Thus far, the students' responses have been positive and enthusiastic.  We can't wait to see what they do by the end of the year!
